A short update. Home from the hip aspiration. The radiologist pulled nothing out of the hip joint, which is fantastic. This is the fifth time I’ve gone through this and that should have been it . . . but he decided to aspirate from three more positions, each one worse than the last. A clear fluid or none at all is perfect. A slightly yelllowish but still with viscosity is good more times than not. A bloody fluid . . . confused. The last he said was cloudy, a decidedly dirty word.
I don’t know if I’ll get the hip back in two weeks or what happens next. I imagine another six weeks of antibiotics and I really don’t know. This has never happened before; it’s always been one pull and done. I won’t know the results for seven days and can no longer understand what happened or guess the outcome as I could in the past.
Thank you so much for your well wishes. I greatly appreciate it.
